So I have this friend with a 2004 silverado SS,and he keeps talkin smack,so I dust off the ol'74 Power Wagon,slant 6,225 cubic inches or tire shreadding pavement ripping power.We line up at the local drag strip to see whos boss.We leave at the same time as i pull the front wheels 6 inches into the atmosphere,I grab a 3 truck legnth advantage before coming out of granny low!I grab second and the leaning tower of power really starts diggin in and i start to distance the SS.I turn on the wipers to break up the dead air at the winshield for some extra speed,I am now 5 legnths ahead and stretching!! I reach down and turn off the radio to boost the voltage to the ignition system as I grab third gear,still have 5 legnths on the Chebby. Fourth gear now and the 4.10 gears are almost topped out at 125 mph,rpm's almost 7 grand,the ss is nowhere in sight,I pull the mirrors in to get the last possible mph out of the Wagon and flash across the line at 130 mph,I stop and have a Coke and a hot dog while the SS finishes the race!

If your gonna tell A whopper,make it a good one!!

And whats the "king" of Chevy's doin on a Dodge site anyway???

teh reason i posted my name as mike jones is because i dont want anybody to know my real name, and my truck is not dat fast but its all right, and i havent taken it to the track but i say its pumping out about 310 to 315 horses because it has knn cold air intake and a flowmaster exhaust but i dont know man i guess he just doesnt know how to drive his truck\

 

i dont know if this is any good but i have ngk saprk plugs and wires and always change my oil with royal purple

 

Well,I'll tell ya CK,sometimes all the right parts come togeather and all the planets align just right and an exceptional engine will come off the line. Take two identical trucks and line them up,one will be consistantly faster than the other,its a cosmose thing.I work with a guy who has a 2004 SS ,I beat on him on a regular basis.some folks say i shouldnt be able to,but I do.Maybe I got an exceptional engine,or maybe he got a turd,I dont know,thats the only SS i have come up against so far. Every manufacturer makes a turd every now and then,and in turn every manufacturer will make a jem,luck of the draw I guess,but as a whole,if you mess with Hemi's on a regular basis with your 5.3,you will know every contour of the dodge tailgate intimently!

wow, i raced a 5.3 liter chevy and all i have is a 4.7 with an exhaust and i only lost by about 1-1 1/2 cars..... thats fairly odd that you beat someone with a bigger engine than mine by "3" cars....
