05 Magnum SXT vs. 00 Dakota 4.7
here's the matchup. 05 magnum sxt ( non awd) intake and dual exhaust and that it ( at least thats what the owner is saying) vs. my 2000 dakota club cab 2wd auto 287ci. my mods, air raid intake, fastman 68mm tb, supertuner on 93 tune and magnaflow duals, and im running stock rear end. ( 4.10's ). whats my chances? my best 1/8th mile on street tires is 9.326 @ 72.93 MPH. this is supposed to go down this fri night.
That is a big TB you only need a 50 mm with that engine 52 mm tops. What does he weigh and how many horsies? How much do you weigh and how many horsies? Are you a better driver? Too many variables bud. I figure you're a little heavier but you do have the 4.7 that sxt is only a v6 with minor mods...
stock tb for the 4.7 is 65mm. i weigh in at 3975lbs. my truck is an auto ( insert foot into floor and vrrooommm) i have dynod 220rwhp and 317rwtq. stock horses on the sxt is 250 crank hp. i think the magnum is like 3500ish lbs, but not sure. either way should be a good run.
He couldn't be getting any more than 30 horses (I think that sounds about right) out of his mods so now do the math. We'll say he lost 40-50 horses at the wheels and is now at 230-240 and I have no idea what his torque would come out to after his mods but I imagine it's propably somewhere close to the horsies. He's lighter than you. I think the only way you will get him is if his gears/torque is just lousy but I doubt that's the case even in the sxt.
i'm gonna talk to the guy tonight after work and see if we can run em either tonight or tomorrow night. will def let ya know tha outcome, i think it will be close.
it's on for tonight after work. we are gonna run best of 3, from a dig, 1/4 mile of freshly paved asphalt( which will definately help me out with traction.)

Take off the spare and any other stuff you can remove easily for an extra weight savings. If you're low on gas don't fill up just have enough for the race and to get to a gas station that'll help a lot on weight.
Hehe dont just floor it ull sit there and burn out. Left foot break rt foot gas and stage it some.... give it gas enough to where the tires are close to spinning while the break is depressed. When go just let off the break and let the engin take you for the launch and then start depressing the gas untill flored just dont do it too fast to where you break loose. I accually find it harder to launch an auto than a standard... its just so damn hard to not off and floor it right away.
