I have the same problem with the ones that talk about how they're gonna take care of their new car and not treat it like they did their other cars, treating it like a garbage dump and never cleaning or maintaining it, yet after the first couple months it's turned into a trash heap. I have a friend that had claimed this with the past 3 or 4 cars he's had and as usual it looks like Madame Trash Heap from Fraggle Rock.

As far as not being built or tuned right, that is highly likely. I know a guy that recently built a late 70's Camaro with a 350 topped by an 8-71 blower and he brought in a rod and piston to show me the damage, it was a perfect condition Eagle H-beam rod with a piston missing part of it's outer top and you could see where it was firing on the top ring, yet there is no sign of the missing piece or any damage to the cylinder wall, head or valves. It's all in how you build it, right or wrong.
