how about some more information on this jetta? the only list that ive seen for the jetta only goes to 99, and the fastest one (stock) is only in the low 16s/high 15s.

my vr6 will rip you a new a hole.. dude 1.8t and vr6s are nto that much diff in power rang.. you need to read up ur info on VW;s ... my vr6 w/ giac tune, aem CAI and full exhuast will hang with a 1.8t with tune and full turbo back exhuast. so i duno where you got your info that 2.8L vr6 are slow. mine ran a 14.4with just the GIAC tune
My truck could run a 14.4 ...that's not that fast. But anyway, tunes REALLY help any car/truck get better e/t's.

2002 Volkswagen GTI 24V VR6 0-60 6.5 ,1/4 NA 2002 Volkswagen GTI 1.8t (manual) 0-60 6.5 , 1/4 15. if you see the the vr6 2.8L is simialar to the 1.8t i got this info from a vw forum and exoticcars.com .. the info is the same. this info is on stock cars.
BadstratRT wut kind of info would you like to know? where you from? if you from near or around Houston TX i could show you wut a lightly modded vr6 can do. same goes for you Yeahitsahemi345

yeaitsahemi345 i kno 14.4s arent fast i wasnt saying thats fast, im saying that theres no way you can beat a vr6 unless you have alot of mods on ur hemi. maybe the older model vr6s they were crap, to heavy and not enough tq. and you saying your truck "could" run a 14.4 but it dont.. i could say my jetta "could" run a 12..

now 2.0s are slow..they are the slowest jetta that can be..ive read they are slow even if you buy an EIP turbo kit for them.

i live in fortworth texas, and if you say a 1.8t is simialar then ill give you a run. I raced a 1.8t from a 40 punch and smoked ez. When i came to the next light i was at a stop and he went flying by when the light turned green. I still caught up with him and said good bye. I think it was stock though some mid 20 or 30s guys driving giving me the finger. I got it all on video to. Only if i could find the cable to my friends camera... pfft. That was without my programmer, and my 275s, and my TB... im pretty sure i can give you a run, if you ever has some free time you should come up to Extreme Horsepower in Dallas, Tx and run me. Im not trolling. I just think it would be a good race and im wiling to run you

I have a 2000 Dakota R/T with some mods. Im about to add some 275s to the rear, 53mm tb and flash comp with a tune up. In about 1 week. Cant wait.

Everytime I went to the track it was the hottest night of the year...plus it was Orlando Speed World which is known for $hitty track conditions. I still pulled 14.5xx's. Anywho...! I don't believe a modded VR6 can keep up with a modded 1.8t. It just wouldn't make sense. The turbo has to respond better to mod's. If you wanna talk about stock cars then sure, a stock VR6 will probably be equal to a 1.8t, but if their both modded than the 1.8t FTW.

actually If its a jetta 4 door the VR is faster stock, but the in the GTI's the 1.8T is faster, the 1.8 is WAY better to mod, much more responcive...HOWEVER!!!!

If you get a turbo kit for a VR6, the right driver, and traction, you can hit 12's right off of the bat...the VR loves boost
