New best!
Well I went to the track last night and I ran a 15.0 at 89.45. I had the fastest N/A truck out there and there were a few other hemis 3titans a few chevys and like 6 lightnings but they were all faster than me. I have a posi, superchips, CAI and a Weld in muffler. I am very pleased with this time as I am also running at 2200ft so my translated time according to the nhra correction tables is 14.6 at 91.85 with no weight reduction. Not too bad I don't think. Just felt like sharing. I was also fighting a 10-15 mile per hour head wind.

thats awesome.how do you like the new posi? did you have any problems hookin up orwere yougetting traction right off the bat?
you need to make some time for a trip down to baytown this race season.thats where we are gonna be running our 69 nova. its the schools car and our automotive class has been working for 2 years to get it ready. its got a double tube frame funny car chassis, fiber glass body, a 509 big block with a holley 1050cfm carburetor, and a custom built B&M transmission. it only weighs 1200 lbs minus the engine and transmission, so we are all ready to see what it will run.

That sounds like a bad *** nova!
The way I started is I stalled the motor to 1500 RPMs then when the light went green I stabbed the throttle hard. I heard a little chirp then it just hooked and took off. The track prep was really good though so that can also be taken into consideration for me to get such good traction.
no my 60ft was 2.34. same exact 60ft as I had when I turned my 15.3. I need to stall the motor higher to get them lower.

This was posted on another forum, my truck pass is the one under Hemiram228. Another guy posted the timeslips from his races and I raced him on the second race so that's why it has that other irrelevant time slip.
do you know what my 60ft would be corrected to sea level?

wow...your 60' time was very bad...lots of room for improvement there. you have to be either bogging or spinning. hell, the stratus is lucky to run a high 15, and it pulls similar 60s to yours. you get that down, and youll be REAL happy with your times, even at 2000ft. if you cant go to a better tire, youll have to work on babying it off the line better by either changing your launch point, or feathering the throttle on the launch...i would bet from my experiences that youre getting more wheel spin than you think.
the only slip that i can find for amandas truck is a 14.900 at 91...with a short time of 2.135, but she had some short times down in the 2.08 range. this was around 1100 feet.

do you take a friend to the track with you? sometimes its hard to tell how much spin youre getting, but i can almost assure you that with a 2.3 short time, youre spinning. if you take someone with you take and put a dot of white shoe polish on the tire, and that will help whoever is watching tell how much youre spinning. if you find that you are spinning, its just a matter of playing with it to get out quicker.
and nice call on OD off. Amandas truck was running 15.0s, and keeping it out of OD added like 1.5mph and cut a tenth. her best runs werent her best short times...i wish that she would have gotten some better runs when she was pulling the 2.08 short times...
i dont think that there is a conversion for the short time, but something to think about. most racers use the conversion of 0.1 on the short time equals 0.15 on the top end. so if you cut your short time to 2.25, removing 1 tenth, on the top end youll cut more like 14.85. that is by no means a perfect equation, but it gives you an idea of what your truck is capable of.

Thanks badstrat, you always have some good info on this stuff. I normally go out with a bunch of guys and my girlfriendso i can have someone watch to see if i'm spinning. I will just mess around with a few things when I go back out in two weeks and see if I can shorten my 60'.
