Killed a Lightning
Okay, I don't get on here much, but I figured you guys would enjoy this. Back when I had my old Dakota RT ('99 w/head work, headers, exh, int, cai, programmer, etc) the one vehicle I always wanted to be able to take down was a Ford Lightning. Well, a few nights ago I was riding around and saw a blue one out cruising. I eventually got up next to him, and he slowed way down to let the cars in front of us pull away. I knew what he wanted, so I drop in down in 2nd and just stay next to him. Road is clear, we both hammer it from about 35, and stay in it til about 65 w/ me ahead by a car. Going out of town, we go again from about 40 to 75 w/ same result. Needless to say, I was pretty stoked, and he was def surprised. We talked for a sec afterwards and he said he was stock, but had a pulley, programmer, and exhaust on the way. I said cool, I've got intake, headers, exhaust, and a 100 shot coming. We're gonna get together another time in the future, hopefully at the track, so I can get some video and times to go along w/ the runs.

Hmm a dakota r/t with those mods shouldn't beat a lightning if he knew he was racing...

I disgree about the dakota. A dakota RT with head work can make much more power than stock..head work is the key.
However, I believe that he is talking about his 350Z, and a 300hp Z, when well driven, will make it a race with a lightning (stock).

Sorry I didn't explain that part. I used to own a Dakota RT w/ those mods. I currently own an Audi A4 and a new Nissan 350Z. I raced him in the Z. Sorry for the confusion.
