Has anyone seen or test driven the new V6 diesel?

Hope the reliability works out for you. I thought I may have wanted one but I've been on another forum and the number of problems they are having with them are significant. Quite a few dead on the side of the road, a few blown motors, lemon law ones, lots of CEL issues that they can't seem to fix and now exhaust leaks for a bunch of them.

Default How many miles per tank are you getting?

What is your total miles per tank? What kind of mileage with towing, are you getting?

Yeah, goodyear tires are just that, good for a year. Michelin is my choice and these will be replaced once they slip.

The turbo lag is significant. At an intersection .. I go from "1.5 seconds of nothing" .. to "smoking the back tires" .. with nothing in between. If it wasn't for traction control, it would be a lot worse. Possibly dangerous. But once the turbo spools up and your moving forward .. you're actually REALLY moving! Better than I expected from 240HP.

The stock wrangler SR-A 20" tires are utter garbage. In the rain I put it in 4WD so I don't die in an intersection waiting for tire grip.

I'll be swapping for winters soon ... then I'm switching to yokohama Parada spec-x tires next spring.

Default Yep maybe the CA regs on the ones seen.

There were some horror stories, but again, I think your going to see that with a new line up. Not that this engine is new, but it is new in this config. They will come out with a recall on the manifold issues. It maybe a CA thing too for there stick emissions.......

There were other horror stories there too, but nothing I did not see on the ecoboost forum, a few years ago...... Some were saying there mileage was like 21=23, and that maybe mountain areas, I live at sea level and we do not even have hills, much less mountains.....(in LA you only have bridges.......)

PM me a link to if you would. I'm on a quite a few general diesel forums, a couple Cummins dedicated forums and even one EcoDiesel only forum and aside from a very few emission CEL issues I've not read any negative.

Curious to read what the problems are. Thanks...

So, for reference ...
2014 Tradesman
4x4 Reg cab long box
active grille shutters

I'm in Canada .. so I will convert

If I'm easy on the pedal and do about 50/50 city/hwy with some towing (4000lbs) and some hauling (1000lbs)
10.5 liters per 100km = 26.9 mpg
920 km/tank = 580 miles per tank

If I'm mostly hwy with no towing or hauling
9.0 L per 100km = 31.4 mpg
1000km/tank = 625 miles per tank

Mostly city with towing and hauling and some 4x4 (worst case)
11.1 L per 100km = 25.5 mpg
850km/tank = 531 miles per tank

Brought it in for it's first oil change a couple weeks ago. Strangely, at 10,000km the oil life had 41% remaining. My extended service contract states oil changes at 10,000Km but I've read online it's 16,000km (or 10,000 miles)

I have not had to add any DEF fluid yet and I'm at 11,500km

This is so they can fit both the fuel and DEF in the same place without having to go to a larger fill area/door. Don't feel bad, my $56k 3/4 ton has the same thing.

Bumped into a guy at the golf course Sunday who was parking about three spaces away from me as I was leaving. Didn't talk to him much about specifics as he was getting there to play a round with his buddies, but he did say he had 17,000 miles on his, had pre-ordered and was the first to take delivery from his particular dealership. Only problem he's had is a leaky 3rd brake light (gee, Dodge/Ram has only been battling this since 2nd Gen days). No CELs to date...
