What will be the effect to my engine if I participate in the recall and allow the reprogramming of the vehicle?

I only see one open recall for your vehicle based on the VIN # provided. The recall concerns the tailgate latch. Nothing about emissions.

This is a result of the big lawsuit against Chrysler regarding the manipulation of the programming of the computer that knocked the 3.0's out of the market.. If I take the redo on the programming, they will bring the engine into compliance and pay me
$3000 (www.ecodieselsettlement.com) But I want to know what the effect is going to be. Zero performance? Shortened engine life?

 

my search shows it open for 3 recalls and the v08 is one of them. Its a US recall so I haven't driven one before or after. Is the compensation package open indefinitely? If yes, wait until your done with the truck.

Do you have to meet a 5 gas emission test in your state?

 

Not aware of that for Ohio. I do not know what the time limitation is, but I intend to keep the truck for a long time. Averaging 24.5 mpg, pulls like a horse and is smooth running.

here is one possibility if warranty is not a concern...take the 3G$ and if you don't like it...go get a custom tune for $500.

Once the dealer flashes it...you can't go back to the old dealer programming.
If you choose not to have it done...when you go to the dealer for any service make sure they don't flash it for a fix for something else or recall.

 

I got the recall, I live in Montreal, Quebec Canada.
They want to reprogram my computer and when they are done, they will say thank you please comer again.
No $3000.00, and no extended warranty. That is complete bull****. Same recall as the US. They get cash plus they add miles to the warranty.

 

did you get the v08 or v16 recall? v16 is Canadian only.
