Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Since you are looking for a Ramcharger, here is some basic info -

--> 1980 and older - Ramcharger was a pop top. The whole roof from tail gate to windshield would unbolt and come off (like the old Blazer and Bronco). These are a blast if you like convertibles. BestTop makes a soft top for it as well. I have a 1980 RC myself.
--> 1981 and newer - Typical SUV, no removeable top but probably stronger and safer overall.

I am fairly sure that the frame did not change from the initial RC in '73 (or '74?) to the last US one in '93. Why change a good thing! They still make the RamCharger with the newer Ram body panels (post '93) for the Mexican market.

I think the last model with a big block motor was in '78.

They are horrilbe, the new ones that is. Imagine a ramcharger *** end with a dakota front clip. Now toss in a six cylender and two wheel drive only, and thats the mexican ramcharger

They began offering the TBI systems in 1988 along with the carbureted engines. Go with the carb system. My 84 pickup has a 318 with an Edelbrock 600cfm Performer Carb and Performer Series Intake Manifold and it Hauls ***.

^^^ if you think a 600 edelbrock is good try a holley ! lol they make good intakes bud the carter 4 barrel design isnt as good as a holley........ even rebuilding holleys are better!......... as for the topic i would sugest a 670cfm street avenger with electronic choke...670 is plenty of flow to support anywhere from stock output to 500hp with proper adjustment.. and while u are at it stuff an edelbrock torker2 intake underneath it
