lift on a ramcharger
Thanks for the info. I have read that the combination of the CV joint and the slip yoke in the driveshaft do the job without a change in the angle. I'm not so sure of that myself, I need to do some more research.
In any event, the angle currently is WAY too much, the diff actually points well above the line of the driveshaft. As if it had a 6 or 8" lift.
Do you think I'd need to worry about it with just a 2-3" total lift?
I'm sure the shocks are kaput. They're on the list for replacement. So far, I've only put about 100 miles on the truck since I got it, but comparing that with other Ramchargers I've owned, it's a very rough ride.
Does anyone know of a source for springs, that actually know what they're talking about, rather than just pedal whatever they can get? I've not heard anything complimentary about Rough Country and their ilk.

We have a truck shop in a nearby city that will custom make springs to your specs. In minute detail.
Their prices are even reasonable. Might wanna see if there isn't something similar near you. (I really dislike using blocks to accomplish a lift.)
Have a look at your rear axle, block, spring, ect. See if there is a separate shim under/over the block to correct pinion angle. Also check and see if the blocks themselves are cut at an angle. Some previous person may have installed both, even though it wasn't required for that particular lift.
Can you post a pic???
