Rebuilt the hinges. Pins and bushings. New Steel weatherstripping. The problem is the holes in the body are too big. With new weatherstripping there are still places I can see daylight through. If such were available thicker weatherstripping would probably solve the wind noise problem. Excessive gap around the doors is a big part of the problem. I don’t see any easy solution to any of this.
You can adjust the doors a bit at the hinges (on the door side. assuming they are bolted on....) and move the striker for the latch in just a bit as well to tighten things up. If most of your noise is coming in around the window frame, (assuming you have a window frame.....) roll the window down, put your knees against the top of the door, and pull the top of the frame toward you a bit. CAREFULLY though. Way to easy to pull too hard.
Thanks. I do appreciate your comments. I have been building wrecks, street rods, and class 8 trucks for over 60 years. I have adjusted a lot of doors. However when you have a large gap at both the front and back as I have there is not a lot you can do with it. I have bent the top of the door in some as you suggested and that has helped. You are a far stronger man than I am. I have to use a good 2x4 and a couple of blocks. About the only way to fix the big gap problem is welding a rod on the edge of the door on front edge and back edge. I have seen that done but it takes a better body man than I am. Again, thanks for your input and have a blessed day.
