Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power WagonGrrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.
Hey all, new here. Been looking all over for backing plates for rear brakes on 86RC. Anyone have ideas? Exhausted .com and local junkyards. All .com junkyards seem like a scam. Is 84 same as 86? And I guess last question but should I consider disc conversion?
If you can't find backing plates, you may not be left a choice.... What diameter drums ya got? Can you find a part number for 'em? (dealer should be able to get you that at least.) If you have the part number, a google search *should* turn something up. I know at least dorman (much as I dislike them) makes some, not sure how far back they go.
Yes I tried dorman. Also summit. And Leeds. Everyone I so far is saying discontinued. Could be only option. Not the worst idea. Although I think that involves a pile of misc (brake booster, proportioning valve…) idk. Gonna research and start hunting I think….

If worst comes to worse, try Murray Park in Tiffen Ohio. He advertises in Mopar Collectors Guide. He has acres of nothing but Chrysler products. He sells a lot via mail order, and I assume internet too now.
The drums are 12” it seems. But the drums aren’t the problem, it’s the backing plates. But a lead is a lead. I’ll check a local jeep dealer and see if they have any info! Thanks
