i like this thread! nice to see you using that truck so many people just throw them away when they get a bit of patina!
I really enjoy fixing up older vehicles. This one is now pretty sound mechanically for a fraction of the cost of a new one. This one was on it's way to the scrap yard when we bought it. I'm not sure if I'm going to tackle the body, it's pretty rough. My father in law bought it new though, so I may completely rebuild it. We're getting kind of attached to it the longer we have it.
might just as well do the body if it runs good and you like it. don't have to get pro paint just some patch panels welded on and a cheapo paint job i did an old ramcharger up for less than 1k two years ago.
i bought it for 400 picked up some parts here and there and painted it with rustoleom was totally worth it people kept pestering me to buy it so i ended up selling it for 3200. point is i would fix up your ram.
So we lost power and had a loud wooshing noise.
The cat plugged and blew hot exhaust through the black hose melting the EGR transducer and another vacuum line.
So we ended up with a new EGR valve and transducer, O2 sensor, cat, Walker exhaust system, fixed a melted vacuum line, and changed the oil while I was at it.
