Cool Mileage

Alright I finally broke down and replaced the factory plug wires on my 2003 hemi 1500. Oh and a coil. Who would have thought that 200,000 miles would wear out plug wires (hehe). Now here is a question I am getting a brand new not remanfactured Throttle body. I paid $188.94. Certified Mopar straight from the manufacture. I am curious if this will help improve my gas mileage.

Why would you think replacing a stock TB with a stock TB would improve fuel economy???

Replacing something with 200,000 miles with something brand new. I was just wondering.

Unless you had idle problems or maybe some acceleration lag I don't know why you would need to replace the throttle body. Cleaning it usually resolves the idle probems. I suppose you could have a broken plate or something that need the TB to be replaced.

Well Just a follow up. I did get 1mpg more. However I did notice it is more responsive and smoother.

Cleaning the back plate of the old one and grounding the old one would have netted the same thing for $188.94 less...
