I have a 01 dakota 3.9 2wd ,2door ,an was looking to change the filter an fluid at transmission pan.
Is there a 2nd filter that's round on my type?
An does brand matter so long as it's the aft 4 fluid?

Also what weight on the gear oil change for the rear ,at times I'll be pulling a trailer. An do I need the traction additive ?
Also what is the torque for gasket an filter.
Any info is appreciated .

Not sure what tranny you have but if you do have a spin on filter, go with Mopar due to the anti drain back valve that aftermarkets probably won't have. Brand of ATF+4 does not matter. I use the Walmart Super-Tech stuff and am at 343K (545 RFE) with no rebuilds. I just do a single drain and fill every 25K or so. Having a pan with a drain plug makes this easier, since you don't have to keep pulling the pan. Not sure which diff you have but 2WD does not need traction additive so don't add any, however if you buy fluid with the additive already added, it won't harm anything.

Lighten up, dude. Maybe the humor didn't translate here too well on the interwebs but it was totally in jest on my part. Of course I missed the date! That was the whole point, but blaming you was convenient. Oh and since the date is at the top of each post, you can put your tweed hat and magnifying glass away.
