Default 96 ram van b1500 won't start a couple hours after a long drive

I just bought a 96 b1500 59k on the clock. I did an oil change and a tune up, sparks and wires. Last week after an hour and a half drive in traffic I parked it at my house. A couple hours later it wouldn't start, the engine was turning over but would not start. I towed it to my local shop who was closed and left it there. They said it fired right up in the morning. They spent a few days trying to replicate the problem and couldn't. I got it back yesterday and drive it around a few places with no issues. I headed back home again on a hot day in traffic with no issues. Went to start it a couple hours later and the same thing happened, it would crank but not start. I tried again this morning and it fired up immediately. The temp gauge never went above the quarter line and it ran great in the hot stop and go traffic. PLEASE HELP!!!

When it won't start, do you hear the fuel pump prime?

I'm pretty certain I did, it was hard to tell with the ignition buzzer. Could the fuel pump be that intermittent to only fail after a long hot drive?

Thanks

Possible. Or a relay failing.... or the PCM..... Lotsa possibilities there. Yeah, I know, that really helps eh?

Intermittents are always a lotta fun.

To make sure have another person turn the key while you are back at the fuel tank. That's what I had to do to make sure as it is kind of faint.
