My son and I are wanting to take on a project of lifting his 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. We have found Fabtech 6.5" lift kit for 1994-1999 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd and wondered if anyone has any experience with this kit on a 2wd? I talked to one parts shop about purchaing the kit but was told there was some welding required. For them to install would cost $2100.00, way to much for us to afford. The lift kit without shocks seems to run around $1200.00 with shocks running @ $400.00. Will that be all the "stuff" we need? Is there really some welding required or is this a bolt on?
