The Mega Cab Ram powered by the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is among the heaviest factory packages in the history of the Ram truck so it is traditionally not a model that many associate with being fast but this week’s Truckin’ Fast Wednesday feature looks at one of those massive Mega Cab pickups ripping through the quarter mile in the low 12 second range.
To be exact, this 6,000 pound heavy hauling Ram Mega Cab smokes its way down the track strip with a time of 12.249 and a trap speed of 111.67 miles per hour. For reference, this is a 6,000+ pound Ram Heavy Duty that will very comfortably seat 5 adults while beating some of the best performing sports cars sold in America today…including the likes of the modern Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Corvette and even some older Vipers.
Most of our very fast Cummins powered Ram HD trucks that we feature show up on DF as a part of our Black Fridays feature but with this oil burner hissing its way along the pavement with very little soot pouring from the exhaust – this truck doesn’t turn the sky black but it is most definitely Truckin Fast.
