Transmission Codes P1757 & P1762
My wife's 2000 Durango has aCheck Engine light on... took it to Autozone to have the Codes Checked:
P1757 & P1762 showed up...both dealing with Governer Pressure Sensor issues...
What exactly can I do? Do I have to take it to a Transmission shop?
Thanks,
Eldon

RE: Transmission Codes P1757 & P1762
Remove the transmission pan and replace the governor pressure solenoid and transducer. There are 3 7/16 or 11mm bolt heads and 2 25mm torque bolts, then remove the bracket holding the sensors up to the valve body. also ajust the bands if needed at that time.

p1757 code came 0n. now I'm going to fix the solenoid that seems to be the culprit
does anyone know if i can still drive the truck while this code is coming up?? I seem to have lost some power when i first step on the gas(otherwise i can't tell). is there any other name for this part because the children at auto zone can't seem to find this solenoid!!! one kid was insisting on selling me a trailer hitch(because that is what his computer shows) morons!

i have a 2000 durango 5.9.
What you need is the Governor Assembly. This assembly should come with 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoids if I remember right. You have a 46RE transmission. You can get it from numerous places including www.rockauto.com and lots of other places. I can't seem to pull up auto zones web site right now to give you the part number.

I know I'm a few years late on this response, but just for future reference, this part is called "governor pressure switch" not solenoid. At this time, just in my personal opinion,I would replace the transducer(sensor) as well since you're going to have the governor heat plate off anyway, and they just "pop" out. The 1-2 and 3-4 is not a solenoid,it is in fact the accumulator spring that you're thinking of here.I felt the need to clarify, just in case anybody in the near future has this same problem.Anyhow,I have the same trans(46RE),same problem and it was in fact the pressure switch.But.....at the same time while I was at the valve body,I ended up dropping the valve body, and replacing the TCC/OD(torque convertor clutch/overdrive) solenoid as well as the neutral safety switch, governor pressure switch and transducer, along with accumulator spring. In either case, saying that the clutch wasn't chewed up from driving at high RPM's in 1st gear, this would most definitely solve this problem.I got both P1756 and P1757,and performing this job corrected that issue, and the codes are now cleared and problem solved.Just a little info for future reference is all

let me tell you my story...not a good 0ne
i had the same trouble codes coming up, ... but since i was broke, i could not fix at thw time, i continued to drive it back and forth to work.. which eventually led me to be st u ck on the side of the road ..... anyway, this was good because it finally made me brake down, and get a new tranny.. ive had no problems since, and that was a few yrs. ago...GOOD LUCK PAL!!!
