the tranny will bolt up to the engine just fine, you will just have to get it rebuilt probably like i did. pretty easy swap though.

the motor swap to tranny is a bolt on. then you got the tranny cable hookups plus rear wheel anti-lock and all the other computer controls not involving the engine to think about. i would throw the 5 speed in to save some time and trouble.
if you can do it you won't be dissapointed, codes and sensors will be a things of the past (sorry guys i'm old school).

it wont be bad, all you woud have to do it rig up a switch for the lockup and over drive and you are done. the 91 tranny would not be computer controlled(42rh) so it will work w/o the computer crap, so you can get rid of it if ya want too.

sorry bad, but i would forget about that stock 4 speed overdrive weak tranny and go 5 speed standard or 727 tourqflite 3 speed automatic, one of the toughest ever made, and it bolts right on. if the engine is carbed it's a lot less work.
when dodge turned the 727 into a 4 speed overdrive they ruined it (sorry guys i'm old school)

your right bad the 727 is cheaper and easier to rebuild (never thought of that). the five speed i think is a getrag, built in france by peogot, had one in my jeep comanchee.i would stick with the 727 auto.
