Default MyGIG RER radio wiring (for IPOD)

I was wondering if anyone has access to the connector pinout on the back of the RER radios.

I am trying to determine if I can connect the ipod integration cable into the RER radio. specifically I am looking for the 10 pin connector that currently goes to the rearview mirror and mic..

I have wires in 1,2,4,8 and 8 but nothing in the rest. I am thinking that the ipod cable probably uses the other 5 wires somehow but am just guessing.

Anyone able to give me insight into what each of the lines out of the radio on those 10 points are?

1 light green/dark green
2 dark green/light green
3 no wire
4 green/orange
5 no wire
6 no wire
7 Green/Pink?
8 Orange/White
9 no wire
10 no wire

Default RE: MyGIG RER radio wiring (for IPOD)

Thanks so much.

Now to find the pinout to the ipod connection cable. It plugs into the uconnect and since they all now have ipod control embedded, may be able to get that working.. dealership sold me the cable with the car but couldn't get it working.. they ahve chrysler engineering working on it though.

Really would like to have proper ipod controls available as syncing tunes to the mygig is a bit time consuming.. would rather just plug in my 160Gb ipod directly and be done with it.

Does the iPod kit allow integrated controls with the radio? or is it just an expensive Aux plug? I havnt even looked at the kit so I have no clue..

Supposed to allow for integration.

Pod Integrated Interface Cable. Simply plug your iPod into the custom cable located in the glove box and you're ready to go. iPod integration means you can navigate your iPod through your radio controls. With this simple "plug and play" hook up, your iPod stays securely attached, outof view and continually charging.

iPod interface cable required to connect iPod to exisitng factory installed UConnect module with iPod integration (UCI).

I don't know if it will work.. I know it works on the RES, REN and REQ radios. Can't see why it wouldn't work on the RER.. worth looking into..

Chrysler engineering said it should work.. so will see..

Does this require a special UCI module? I have factory installed uconnect and purchased a 82211263 cable that plugs right into it but my ipod is not being found. If it does require a different module do you have any idea what the part number would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to say that my radio is a REQ not the mygig.

82211263 is the cable for 2008 vehicles with the Mopar UConnect.

82210787AB is the cable for 2008 vehicles with the factory UConnect.

I have that one also but I see no place for it to connect. The 82211263 has asquare ten pin connector and is about three to four feet long, which will plug into the UCI but the 82210787AB has a rectangler connector and is only about a foot long, can't remember how many pins, which I see no place for.
Now I have read somewhere that there should be a connector in the glove box, which is probably where the 82210787AB connects and I don't have that. If that is the case then there should be another harness that my caris missing and where it would come from I haveno idea.

Is there a harness bundled to the left of the glovebox (outside of the glovebox)? Maybe you have to roll-down the glovebox to access the connector and feed it into the glovebox...
