Rear Wheel Locked Up, Help!!!
Hey everyone,
I just pulled my car in the garage this afternoon after being outside in Minnesota for a week. As I hit the brakes stopping in the garage somthing broke. I thought it was the front end but I found nothing. Now when I tried to tkae it out of the garage the drivers side rear wheel is locked up. Its dark and 8 degree outside so I am not going out to check. Anyone got an idea what it could be? Could the hub lock up? Maybe since I was applying the brakes its something with that. Any suggestions as to what I should look at would be appreciated.
Thanks

yup good luck prying off the drum with the wheel locked lol. i would try to pump the brake a few times, pull the parking brake a few times, and if that doesnt work. bleed the lines so maybe it will loosen up a bit. it will be near impossible to get the drum off with the brake enabled, and if you do manage it, all the parts will blow up in your face and it will not be fun

RE: Rear Wheel Locked Up, Help!!!
I had similar situation on a FORD I use to own. After I got it apart it turned out that I had blown a wheel cylinder. The piston had come completely out and wedged itself between the cylinder and the pushrod for the pad. Wasnt fun to get it back to normal either. The car was from NewYork and was 5 years old, so it was pretty rusty underneath. The zerk fitting was ceased to the caliper. Played hell gettin it bled.
