Best Gear Ratio?
I don't know much about gear ratios so I need some help. I'm pretty sure I've got stock 3.55's and I was looking at 4.11's and 4.56's. I only have 2WD so I don't plan on getting bigger tires either. I'd like to still be able to tow things obviously but I want more performance. I know I'm probably asking very generic questions, but I'm so lost haha

Not trying to hijack your thread......but,
I added some 305 70 16's to my 2001 Ram 1500, it's has 355's with auto......it won't pull the hat off your head. I had 265's on it and it wasn't any better. The tag on the door says the truck came with 225's but the unused spare is a 245. I got a good deal on some used 305's that's the only reason I put them on, was going on a camping trip pulling my 27ft fifth wheel. What ratio do I need to go with for 245's or 265's for pulling? I don't drive the truck too much cause it getting terrible gas mileage anyway but when I do have to drive it to work it about 35 miles one way.....the rest of the time it's only used for pulling. It got 13-14 with the 265's...not sure if it's changed much with the 305's.
