Default 98 Ram 1500 5.2l AC not blowing cold air

Hey all,

I have a 98 Ram 1500 5.2l 2wd & the AC is not blowing cold air..It will blow cold air when I start the truck but once I put it on the road it stops..The fan still blows but no cold air..I have replaced the recycling switch that sits on the dryer and nothing.. I also replaced the liquid line hose as well and still does the same thing..I also checked the relay switch & it's ok too..I also checked the plugs that connect to both high & low cycling switches for voltage & they are both ok..also checked the compressor plug for voltage & its ok.. I also checked the switch in the cab to make sure they not getting hot, but its ok too..The compressor will cycle once then cut off..I'll shut the truck down for awhile then start it & it will blow cold again till i put it on the road..
Any ideas what it may be because here in South Texas it's getting PURTY DANG HOT & I'm starting to melt..
Thanks for your time..

Monitor your pressures when it happens. Could be pressure is building past the safety point on the high side..... (possible plugged orifice tube... but, you changed that......)

If you run the truck in park, with the A/C on, and hold the engine at about 2K rpm, will the compressor cut out? Or does it continue to blow cold air?

If you let it settle back down to idle, with the compressor kick back on after a few?

If so, I think you still have a blockage in the system somewhere..... or, the system is over-full.

No, it doesn't kick back on..Do you think there might be something wrong w/the dryer? I haven't replaced it yet..I'm thinking there may not be enough pressure for it to kick in the recycling switch..What do you think?

I would be real tempted to put a gauge on it, and see what pressure looked like while it was running.
