Default Trouble finding rotors

I have a 1994 Ram 2500 V10 (8800Lbs) and RWD, I have stumped the guy at NAPA because he says there are standard bearings in the inside. I told him that there is a tapered bearing on the outside, but a pressed sealed bearing in the inside. I ordered what Rock Auto told me was the right rotor, but it was also wrong. . .I am the second owner and the original guy just collected antique tractors, so I am sure he didn't change any spindles. What am I missing? Thanks. . .

I went to the link you provided, but when I filled in the "see if they fit" check; it says they are not compatible with my vehicle. ? . ? I also need to see the back side of the rotor as the biggest problem is making sure they take a race bearing on the inside and a tapered (packable) bearing on the outside with castle nut, etc. This is the big stumper. . .

That doesn't make any sense. A standard bearing cant take lateral force like two tapered bearings. And from what the parts manual shows it has two tapered bearings and a seal on the inside. If it is how you say it is i would like to see some pics!

I looked that up for a 94 Ram 2500 2wd, with V-10. (not that I think engine size matters in this particular instance.....) Site told me it was an exact fit...... the reviews also implied that it would work...... So, I am real curious what's up there.

I think your best bet is going to be going into the store, and physically inspecting what they have...... Ordering online is going to be seriously hit and miss, and shipping will quickly eat up any potential savings of an online purchase.

Next free time I have I will take pictures. Like I said I ordered rotors from Rock Auto and got new seals, but when I took the rotors off the truck they had pressed in race bearings on the inside and tapered on the outside. Advance auto says they will not fit my truck, even when I use the VIN number. . .This weekend will be the longest time I have to tear it down and take pictures.

Well I found the bearings, and they exist. . .Just need to find the rotors. This is what I see when I pull the rotors off, because the rotor serves as the hub assembly. . . go figure.

Actually I am not sure these are the correct bearings. I see that they come apart and have a tapered race. I remember the bearings looked sealed, like a real hub bearing on a car. I gotta get it apart again.

Tapered bearings come with an outer race. These need to be pressed into the(new) rotor. The inner race is part of the bearing carrier so the pic you posted is correct. Don't forget the inner seals, I doubt you want to reuse them. If you have front wheel abs(if available in 94???) there may be two different style rotors available.

Just for fun I went to the parts department of my local Dodge dealer. He wouldn't give me part numbers or a printout of the diagram, but he knew what I needed. The problem is he quoted me at $580 each for the rotors.!.!.! There has to be an aftermarket option. . .
