Default truck hesitating

Hello everyone this is my first post. i have recently been have a problem with my truck hesitating in park and in gear and it has a strong fuel odor. So far i have changed spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor and crank sensor was all changed before it started hesitating then two weeks later is started. What i have changed after it started hesitating is fuel pump, coil, iac. And yesterday i was checking spark and the passenger side of the truck was hit or miss with spark. I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2l.

Is the CEL on? If so what are the codes? How many miles are on the truck? Has the plenum gasket ever been replaced? Try removing the front 02 sensor and driving it around to see if your cat is clogged.

Its probably a clogged cat, if the plenum is not replaced it will leak oil into the air intake and clog the cat quicker. Possibly some crud from the cat started to get forced into the 02 hole, not sure. Probably will want to either gut the cat or replace it and also fix the plenum. To see if its shot you can look down into the throttle body with the intake off. If you see oil in there it needs to be replaced. Also look into replacing the PCV valve. Best bet for that is to go to the dealer, its about $8.

This will answer all plenum questions: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Did you see oil IN the intake? If so, plenum gasket it blown, and will cause some interesting problems. (clogged cat being right up there on the list....) And no, the stuff in the cat isn't supposed to move. If it is, the cat is bad.

If you don't have emissions testing/inspections, just gut it.
