Has lots of power in 1st gear has little power in drive?

What do you mean "little power"? Do you mean your engine is revving or your engine is lugging?

With nothing more to go on, it sounds like a misunderstanding about overdrive rooted in Dodge's decision to default it to on.

I know what you mean...it seems my '95 with same setup is gutless when it comes to mid range torque. I mean, a small highway overpass will send it into a downshift, and it still seems to have a lack of power. It may be due to the fact that my previous truck was a v10, but still I have read on the Hughes Engines site that the cams are SMALL in these Magnum engines, and that is a problem with power-making. Their site is educational.

When in drive and I Hanmer it, it will only go to about 2 grand and 3 quarters on the rpms.
