Default Which brand fuel tank straps?

I need to replace the fuel tank straps on my 01 Ram. Which brand do you guys recommend? I was going to get the Spectra from RockAuto and I see that they have good reviews on Amazon. However a few old posts I found said not to use junk from the parts store and to get OEM. Is OEM worth 3x the cost? Which do you guys recommend?I don't plan to get rid of the truck anytime soon so I'd like them to last a quite a while.

Just my humble opinion, but I would go OEM, in the.past, I have found the oem through the local dealer was not that bad in price either, on certain parts. I however never needed tank saps tho.
Good luck. Keep us posted, now that you mention it, I have a tank strap that is about ready to.let go!

I just got the cheap parts store fellers. 50 bucks for both. They are still on the 96. (three or four years later.) It's hard to screw up a bent piece of flat steel.

Looking at prices online it seems like I'm looking at about $85 for both oem straps. I'm sure it's a bit more at my local dealer. The Spectra is right at $30 for both and most reviews seem decent. That's what is making it so tempting. I just don't want something that's going to break and leave me stranded in 2 years.

It will take more than that to rust out like the oem ones. The Spectra ones look about the same as oem (no paint or coating of any kind). I picked up a pair during the sales at Xmas. I will be painting them with epoxy primer then paint before i put them on. They may out last the oem ones!

One of my OEM straps had rusted out and the prior owner used a ratcheting strap to hold the rear portion of the tank up. When I bought the truck, I replaced both straps with new OEM straps that I mail ordered from a Dodge dealer that specializes in selling truck parts online out of Texas. I did have to undercoat the new straps, as they are pretty much bare metal.

Good looking out guys! I was concerned with fitment, that is we hy I tend to sway toward OEM. But after all your great reviews of aftermarket straps, I've decided on these
