Default Zex Dry Nitrous Kit

So I recently happened onto a Zek nitrous kit. I traded the guy a broke down laptop and a zune I found in some boxes in my garage. It came with everything. I have never used a nitrous kit before and any help would be great. Thanks guys!

Oh wow baracis mad lucky lol....Im sure SuperDak can help. He has the ZEX kit installed also. I for one wouldnt recommend having more than 50-75 shot at all. Even a little nitrous will have bad effects sooner or later.

The thing about this kit is that it's actually in tune with the truck's computer, so it never leans out, which is cool. I was also reading that a meth injection kit would set it off as well.

The Dry kits are a not so good idea on our trucks.

we are speed density and not mass airflow.

you may want to spend a hundered bucks on ebay and get a dry to wet conversion kit.

I need more info than that if you don't mind elaborating.

The dry to wet kits are more than $100...the cheapest on E-Bay for a Zex kit is $348.88.

Wet shot mixes the nitrous with fuel making it safer to run. Also easier to install and tune

The "brain" on the Zex dry kit is hooked up to your fuel line as well, thus increasing the pressure and spitting out more gas; so no mixture is needed from the kit itself. You can also run a meth injection kit, like Billy's, if you're so inclined; just to ensure it doesn't run lean.

the problem with the dry kits is how they enrich the fuel. they "trick" the computer into umping more gas by lowering the intake air temperature. this works great on mass air flow setups like gm and ford. our trucks are speed density set ups, not mass airflow. a colder intake charge dumps gas, but also increases timing. this isnt so great for a nitro setup. notice how that zex manual says not to use aftermarket chips that advance timing? thats to decreas the chances of detonation. when that happeneds, your plastic intake will make this cool popping sound and will probably be accompanied by a small fire ball and oil. detonation occurs when you go too lean. wet kit dumps the proper amount of additioal fuel to compensate for the added nitrous.

i am ot trying to talk you out of running nitous. i am going to be also. but my kit will be a wet kit.
