Default Installing HID lights

I am wondering on a 12 Canadian Grand Caravan if the DRL's are powered at full voltage or is it pulsed. I would like to install a HID light kit in and wanted to know if I require capacitors/canbus kit to keep the lights from flickering. I would rather do it this way instead of running the power to the ballasts thru relays. Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe on the HID systems, they run the DRL through the high beams. And yes, it is pulsed.

Default HID on Low Beams

Further to your question.

If you install HID lights on the low beam are the capacitors or any special hookup required?

DRL are on High beam?

Also 35 or 55 watts?

Laserman42 the low beams do not require capacitors due to they come on with steady 12v power the DRL's are your high beams that are pulsed as to dim there output. You will need capacitors or supply power thru relays the only thing is that you will have your high beams on at full brightness.
I went with the 35 watt kit with a color temp of 4300K a nice white light

I have a 2015 Caravan RT. Do we need a Canbus HID Kit for the foglights?

ceasarjr8o8 you do not require the canbus as the voltage is a steady 12 volt

You're replacing the entire headlight assembly, right? Cuz a drop in HID kit is illegal and actually throws less light on the road. You must have a headlight that's built for the different focal point of HID bulbs. And it must be built to handle the extra heat.
