Let's hear it for total gear control.
I test drove an '09 Ram w/console shifter last month. With the salesman in the back seat (my brother riding shotgun), I tapped down two gears in a low speed corner and thought, "Cool!", but almost immediately the f****r upshifted! nowhere near redline! All by itself! like some kind of automatic robot or something!

It would be a cool idea if they worked well, but it must have some sort of regulator (for lack of a better word) that keeps you from shifting up or down out of a certain range of RPMs..like you don't really have control of it.
