‘Vapor’ Challenger: Part Stealth Fighter Aircraft, All Mopar

Crazy custom Challenger ‘Vapor’ is a spiritual stealth fighter on wheels built to generate interest in joining the US Air Force.
We have certainly seen some pretty crazy customs rides here at Dodge Forum. However, this one rates pretty high on the wildness factor. This Dodge Challenger “Vapor” was built to stir interest in the Military with the youth of America.
Hot Cars brought this crazy thing to our attention, and we couldn’t be happier. The car definitely stands out, but there is much more to it than meets the eye. Shall we dig in?

The Vapor was built by Galpin Auto Sports, who are known very well for their crazy builds. They have a large group of talented individuals that can make just about anything in your head come to life.
Believe it or not, that is actual radar resistant paint like you’d find on the F-117 Stealth Fighter. While there likely won’t be a scenario where that comes in handy, it is still pretty awesome to see. The one-off carbon fiber wheels are staggered, with the rear set being a monstrous thirteen inches wide. The scissor doors are perhaps a bit over the top, but given that this car was built in 2009, we’ll give it a pass. It was all the rage not too long ago, lest we forget. What really gets the juices flowing, though, is the interior.

The jet fighter theme reaches a whole new level on the inside. The dash is entirely replaced with a set of night vision screens, and the steering wheel looks like an airplane yoke. The center console is replaced with a rivet-lined metal extension of the trans tunnel. The deeply tinted windows complete the stealthy feel. In terms of tech, it has a 360-degree camera and sensors that can detect objects from up to 440 yards away. Completing the jet-style interior is a GPS transponder and a heads-up display.
Just as crazy as the interior, though, is the fact that Vapor can be controlled from anywhere in the world. Much like drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, it has a remotely controllable computer system allowing this insane feature.

Vapor Challenger used to tour the country going to events to attract young individuals interested in joining the Military. It has since been retired, though. While it is no longer being shown off, we still couldn’t help but bring it to your attention too. This thing is wicked, and it can still be seen at The National Museum of The United States Air Force. So, if you happen to be in Ohio, or will be soon, you may want to go check it out in person!
