Wicked Widebody Challenger Hellcat Lays It out for Likes

Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Painted a striking color and given an aggressive stance, Insta-famous Challenger breathes new life into an old platform.

If you’re looking for inspiration for your own car build, you don’t have to look far. There are many great platforms available for such endeavors these days, the best of which might just be Instagram. There, we’ve found all sorts of incredible Mopars builds. Ranging from old school hot rodded wagons to modern day widebodied beasts. But this wicked Challenger owned by detroit_hellcat might just take the proverbial cake, if you’re into this sort of thing.

It was but a year ago that this particular Challenger Hellcat was, well, just a “regular” old car. Sure, it was lowered and had some wheels and tires, along with a couple of aftermarket body bits. But then, major surgery began. We got a couple of sneak peaks at what was to come, and that was something major. This Dodge was being fitted for some widebody fenders, but even then, we didn’t really know the full scale of what was coming.

Those wide fenders from Clinched were just the beginning. The owner also went with a new set of bespoke, miles-deep SevenK wheels to fill out those spacious new flares. And since he went to all the trouble required to give this Challenger an extreme makeover, a new hue was in order as well. For that, the owner went with a pretty incredible, eye-catching shade called Mermaid Green. It’s a unique choice, for sure. And one that only helps make this Hellcat even more of an attention-getter than it already was.

The end result is certainly one of the most unique builds we’ve seen in a while, Mopar or otherwise. And it looks pretty sinister sitting on the ground, with 345-series tires out back. Any regular old Challenger Hellcat is aggressive as-is, but this certainly takes things to an entirely new (low) level. And you’d be hard pressed to find anything like it, anywhere else.

It’s no wonder why this particular Hellcat has already garnered some awards at various shows. And we anticipate that the owner’s trophy case will only grow moving forward. Plus, it’s just further proof that we haven’t quite seen everything when it comes to this aging platform – not by a long shot!
