I have a set of Alpine type-x 6 1/2 components. They sound awesome...The alpine adapter plates require a little bit of trimming and it bolts right in. Not too bad at all.

Well the install went smooth.Door speakers are LOUD as heck. (still need to be tuned with the rest of the system)
Everything works great except the subs they play great at low volume but as soon as it starts bumping it cuts out for a bit. I replaced the amp wht another. Still continues to cut out. So I am left with the headunit? or subs? The subs are 10" SVC JBL I have 2. If its the subs why would both cut out if it was the subs?
As for the headunit I tried swithing from the Non-Fading preouts to the Rear Preouts and it still continues. I tried running the subs (as trial) off a Kicker kx350.4 bridged to the ONE amp. I also tried running it off a Pioneer GM-7100m amp no difference.
I was thinking if it as the wire size then it would blow the fuse under the hood, right.
The headunit has 4.5 preouts and is a kenwood kdc-x915.

And last but not least they preouts are cheapy one. I have ran these ones before off a Kicker z240@4ohms and never had a problem though.

can i run a component system off the factory amp? or is it better to run them off an amplifier? I have a older kenwood 600watt amp that i am running 2 rockfor 10's off of. there are two sets of speakers outputs. should i just use them then?

you can run the components off the factory but DO NOT use the crossover from the components and add a bass blocker to the tweet for safety

your 600 watts would shred most normal components so that is not an option ...
Using the factory amp is fine ....
Or get a 4X75 and use it to run the components and run the 6X9's from the head unit opwer
