RE: 4g63-t swap
Yeah, Jason at Redefined Rides did the 4g63 AWD swap guys. I've never taken credit for that.
I've even stated where credit was due on my CarDomain site too
.
So, just to be sure that we're clear...Jason did the swap and I do the upkeep and modifications

RE: 4g63-t swap
I think I remember that question. I was saying that if everything was already fabbed up, then it should only take a weekend to put the motor in and wire it up.
The cost of a rebuilt motor, AWD part, and labor was $6500. That's the cost of a 2G GSX if it was in the same condition my car was in...minus the rebuid. So, in the end, I got a better deal out of it over JUST buying a used GSX.
The labor was about $1500, which is a fair price IMO. However, shops with no knowledge of how this would be done will charge a lot more. 1) it will take them longer to do because of the learning curve of the swap. 2) there's a learning curve, lol.

RE: 4g63-t swap
this is a project my 14 yr old son wanted to do. swap a 4g63-t into the 96 avenger with a blown motor that his grandfather gave him.
Any advice on this type of project? Ive always had rear drivers weather it be cars or trucks and usually with V8's (hence my grand cherokee that Im in now). I am not familiar with fwd and force induction 4bangers, but more than willing to learn and teach my son so he can learn too.
Also I am in favor of any or all kids getting a car to fix up before they can drive so they can appreciate the vehicle more.
Thanks for all the help.
Paul
