Default Main bearing

I have a 1996 Dakota 3.9L, and the top main bearing is wider than the bottom. Every main kit I buy is wrong. What do I need to order.

So are the ones they are sending you different sizes top and bottom??? The ones in your engine shouldn't be... and they are all the same, 87 to 03.....

Default Main bearings

The ones that I took out of the motor, the top main is wider than the bottom. And all I can find are the same size. I used my calipers to measure the oem and the new. Huge difference in the top.

Here is a diagram of the bearings from the factory. I looked at every bearing kit rockauto had and they look the same. Post pics of what you have.

Replacement on the left, original one on the right.
the numbers on the left bearing match on all the lowers, but not the uppers. And I can't find any that will work.

Are all the uppers the same??? From what I am seeing, there are three different bearings. The thrust bearing, which is obvious, one wider bearing, and two narrower.... At least, that is what the pics show....
