Hi, I am new to this site and I have found the Info..on here helpfull..so lets begin.. 97 2.5v-6 avenger..backing out of a parking space and shut off...will turn over just not start..replaced the CPS still nothing..Blink code 12...now what? Thank you Tim

 

12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles
Check Battery connections / Informative Code

are you getting the fuel pump to run ???
are you getting spark ???

 

Fuel pump is running can here it when you turn the key on..did not check for spark yet...

 

the car shut off in shopping plaza center wher there happens to be a advance auto..and a radio shack there soo i am trying to fix it there rather then getting it towed to my shop..are the relays still available at radio shack and do you think that may be the problem.Thanks Tim

 

possibly ....A Bosche 30 amp relay works in place of them

No Problem best of luck... You can also swap them and see if the trouble moves .... Swap the fuel pump ,and the ASD and if the pump doesn't run=bad relay

 

swap them and bought the last 30 amp five prong relay advanced auto had...tried that and no change..just spins over..i guess my next move is the dist.and cam sensor

 

1)check for spark
2)check for voltage at the distributor

 

Ok ..Check for spark...notta...how would you check voltage at the dist?.Thanks T
