Need Help with Rear Struts ASAP!!!!!
Hey guys,
Haven't posted in a while, anyway, driving down the road today, and I hit a pothole. I couldn't avoid it, and I was doing about 45 m.p.h. Immediately heard somthing rattling in the back left area. I get home and take the seats out of the back and sure enough, the strut is pushing the cap off of itself. So now I need a new strut. I've already taken the entire strut assembly off, but now I need to know how to put a new strut on it. Also, need to know how to compress the spring and all of that junk. Please, detailed insrtuctions would be awesome, and also I have a couple of other questions. Since im replacing one strut, does it mean i have to replace the other one? Next, do I really need to torque everything down to factory specs, or do i just get everything snug? If i do, how do I know what the factory specs are? Thanks for all the help,

goto autozone and 'borrow' a set of spring compressors....and make sure everything is TIGHT
edit: after you drive around for about a hundred miles or so....get back in there and make sure everything is tight.....good rule of thumb....and then get it aligned

I wrote this up the other day ... in your case the top mount may have been damaged ,
The top washer or the bushings may have stripped/been damaged you might get away with just a $35 mount

The rear is pretty solid as the way it mounts ... I'd swap and keep an eye on the tires if it starts to wear oddly then get it aligned
