First off great forum and thanks.Problem is stalls while driving not overheating no knocking or any advance warning no codes just cruising along and dies.Upon a very lengthy research and a cpl $ grand later narrowed it down to either a egr valve or the cps I hope.Just would like a few thoughts on which is more likely.Of course new plugs wires caps dist etc etc also the cutoff relay.Love this car I had a 95 had to return because of a non starting issue which ive recently found out was the 02 sensor live and learn eh lol.

when you say stalling does it not idle ? like at a stop it sputters and dies ?

 

No sputtering just dies no warning nothing cruising along and just dies very scary btw when your on the freeway

 

does it restart easily ?

 

not usually wait time can be anywhere from a min to half hour more to the half hr mark

 

I'd check the Crank positioning sensor

Well replaced the cps just wish i could try it out now lol,New problem If you wanna start a new thread no problem.Now it dies when you put on brakes rough idle around the 1500rpms it sputters and want to die put in gear (reverse or drive) still rough idle no cel when it dies no code from key seems to run fine in higher rpm dont know have a 1/3 rd mile straight before stop sign seems to run fine till put on brakes and sputters and dies so trying the egr valve next
Should add doesnt matter cold or running temp

 

I'd try cleaning the intake tract first with seafoam
quick test for egr is block it off on the rear of the manifold take a pop can and cut out a plate to block it off and try it idles ok then bad egr

 

OK will do the egr test,and sorry havent heard of seafoam,but will look it up and clean the tract let you know later if it doesnt get to hot today lol
