Default Stalling and rpms drop to 0 while driving

98 avenger 6 cyl. intermittent stalling attempts while at idle but never fully shuts off and now while driving it randomly loses power and drops rpm's to 0 at speed. runs rough when this happens but any other time it runs like a new car...ideas anyone???

took to Autozone to get check engine light checked and they said it was O2 sensor and crankshaft position sensor....would either of these be causing my problems?

I doubt the O2 sensor , the Crank sensor causes dying but won't restart usually

It sounds more like you have an idle issue ,
I'd clean the intake and run seafoam thru it first , if she still stumbles remove the EGR tube of the passenger rear and block it off with a metel "gasket" and reinstall if the car runs/idles you have a bad EGR

If she still won't idle remove the Idle Air Control and clean it and reinstall
Still no idle replace the IAC

Default 98 avenger 6 cyl. intermittent stalling attempts while at idle

my 1999 avenger had that problem it was a bad ground on my battery if your throttle cable is heating up its a bad ground for sure. check engine ground too ground battery to car also. strut tower should have a spot.
