Unhappy 99 Avenger issue - AGAIN!

Greetings out there in Avenger land. I last posted in 8/2012. My 1999 Avenger, 2.5 V6 had engine misfire issues. After all of the hours spend checking this and that, it ended up being a bad distributor!

Thanks for your help, Bad Venge!

A year and a half later, I now have a new issue. No power when climbing hills, any hill. If I play with the throttle as I am climbing a hill, it will eventually gain some speed. Currently CEL is not on. Engine does not miss, it idles fine. I have not checked much yet.

Does anyone know a easy way to test fuel pressure?

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!

There is a reduction in acceleration on flat roads.

I would look at the simple things first. Sounds like fuel filter or maybe the rare clogged air filter. Sounds like your engine is not getting enough fuel or air.

Could be plugged exhaust system. Try removing the o2 sensors and drive the vehicle and see if power.

To help out the OP, he did ask if anyone knew how to check the fuel pressure. I am unaware of the process, but maybe someone can enlighten him or send him in the right direction?

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I have removed the fuel filter, its looks like it could be the problem. Gas from the filter is gray in color. I will also take a look inside the tank. I will also check the air filter, we live in the woods in WV, lots of varmints.

Then to check fuel pressure, I believe you need a banjo fitting and adapter to screw into the fuel filter. That's was how we check them when the car first came out.
