Default Headlight Lens Cleaner

Has anyone tried the polishing kits for the "cloudy" condition on the clear headlight covers.

You can use sand paper and water and then polish it or you can use white toothpaste and a cloth. Same results as an expensive kit!!!

Do a search and you will find a lot of info...

I have used the toothpast trick on several different headlights. I have to say for the money that works great. It was even shown on "TRUCKS" on spike. That is where I learned about it.

Use really really fine sandpaper, start with a P400 then work your way up to about a P1200-P1500 get em for the wet applications.

It sounds funny, but as will4557 said it was shown on "Trucks" and it works.. At the least your headlights will have a minty fresh smell !! LOL.

PS. I think it has to be white toothpaste if i'm not mistaken...

yes it does have to be white toothpaste! I have done it many times and it really does work and its cheap. It dont have to be a name brand toothpaste,as long as it is white.

The dollar store has just what you need. The toothpaste there is great for all kinds of household uses; fixing scratched CD's, patching holes in drywall, polishing headlights. Not recommended for actual dental use though...

lol

nice i spent 11$ on a kit and spent about 5mins a light...worked like a charm but the toothpaste procedure sounds like something to finish mine and the rest of my rides...
