Default catylitic converter




i have a 1994 dodge dakota and i was wondering if anybody knows when vermont started to require the catylitic converters on vehicles i know it was early 90's but i don't know what year exactly. i have a cherry bomb muffler on it and i would like to take the cat. off, please let me know if u find anything out on it

This doesn't answer your question, but I have a '95 with the 5.2 and I just cut the cat out last week....night and day. If you can get away with it I recommend it for sure

CUT IT OUT!!! i got better gas milage and performance when i did mine, but you will probably put a muffler on in afterwards.... it is loud!!!

This is vermont MVD laws. http://www.anr.state.vt.us/air/docs/apcregs.pdfIt does say it is illigal to remove the cat. I live here in nm where it is illigal to do it too but I have done it. So decide for yourself

do it, it is iilligal in florida too. peer pressure always works, you will be glad you did.

hmmmmm I don't know if I should I live in cali where the whole smog deal started and its a HEAVY fine if the pigs catch you.

I personally would recommend a high-flow cat versus none at all. you will lose gas mileage but gain performance by cutting it out, but with the price of gas...decide for yourself. I know in PA (where im originally from) they have the emmission inspections also. most places are going with them. sometimes you can get away with it, most times not. its up to you.
