no heat no nothing
i have a 1995 dodge dakota v-6, i rarely use the truck and i noticed the other day that when i try to turn on the heat or a/c nothing happens, i don't even hear a noise. where should i start to trouble shoot this problem. i don't want to spend an arm and a leg. help please thanks
ck the FAQ section. The heater control resistors are all probably fried. It is on the firewall pass. side under the hood. 2 screws $35 bucks and 10 minutes will fix it. Put a little RTV around the new one so water doesn't get in and fry the new one. There's a nice pic in the FAQ section to show ya where your problem is. Been there. Done that.
i replaced the resistor and the wiring clip because of corision ,it fixed that problemnow it looks like the heater core might be a problem. when the water pump went out would that cause the thermostat to go bad as well, or should i just do the heater core??? the truck doesn't seem to run hot it just blows cold air.
Try flushing the heater core out first...it worked on mine. The flushing only cost me $2 for a hose connector. here is the thread...

have you checked the antifreeze? Stupid me but if it runs bad when it heats up and you don't get any heat sounds like you a/f is too low.
