Default Head Bolts?

I am doing the head...called dodge and they said that the head bolt set has
been discontinued. Can't find any thing on the internet other than the 4cyl set. From everything I have read they are not reusable...is this true. Do I have to change them...they look in pretty good condition?

thanks

They are not ment to be reused. But they will work just as good. You could also try www.arp.com

I've never looked for v6 parts before, but my best advice is if you can't find them, buy a set for the 318 and just use the ones you need...

Someone else may know better, but I would assume they would work since the 3.9 is a 318 without 2 cylinders.

JCWhitney has them for all of the Dodge Dakota engines. Under $30 for a V6 set.

yep, they are the same for the 318 if you cant find them, i would not reuse the head bolts, most are TTY( torque to yeild).

I just read on the Hughes engine site that the intake botlts are also TTY. Is this true? If so, in addition to head bolts the intake bolts should also be replaced. I just ordered my head bolts from Pep Boys, I will be ordering the intake bolts first thing in the morning.

i reused my intake bolts. they are only torqued to 12 ft lbs, i would not think that would be enough to hurt those bolts
