i put some bolts in the little holes and wedge a pry bar in there. but the best thing i have used is an air chisel, it works reat and its quick!

 

so how would you do this? is the stock fan just bolted on so you can remove it? and would you have to make shrouds or could you use the ones that are with the electric fans?

 

The stock mechanical fan is bolted to the water pump. It is one large nut. Remove that.

As for a shroud with the new fan depends on what you get. If you get one with a shroud your okay. If you don't get a fan with a shroud you will have to make one for optimum air flow.
