Default Transpak - Auto Trans Shift Kit

B&M Transpak kits create new shifting characteristics by re-routing fluids through your transmissions valve body. Each kit includes two options: RV/Heavy Duty and Hi-Performance Street. RV/Heavy Duty is for towing off-roading or other heavy-duty use. You get firmer shifts and full manual control over downshifts with normal automatic operation when in drive. Hi-Performance Street gives you quicker snappier shifts than RV/Heavy Duty with standard shift points and automatic features when in drive.

Recalibrate your automatic transmission for optimum performance. Select the mode that best suits your application. Improves transmission life. Transmission removal not required.Provides all the features of the Shift Improver Kit along with increased manual control. This includes allowing you to hold the trans in any gear as long as you want (except C-4) or to downshift at any speed (except C-4 TH-200 & TH-700). Downshifting at higher speeds than stock is useful when descending steep hills with a heavy load or trailer.Stage 1. Heavy DutyFor street rods normal passenger vehicles or other heavy duty use. Firmer shift feel but not harsh. Improves transmission performance and life dramatically without loss of comfort. Normal automatic operation when in “Drive”.Stage 2. High Performance StreetFor full performance street use. Essentially the same as Heavy Duty mode except shift is much snappier. Retain full automatic features and standard shift points with selector in “Drive”.Stage 3. Full Competition (TH-400 TH-350 & C-6 only)For racing applications. Features a full competition shift and higher shift points. Very hard shifts and high shift points make this mode unsuitable for street use. Maintains automatic shift control.

so what do you guyhs think? its just under 100bucks if it actually does what they say it does in the discription i may consider getting it and installing it when i change out the oil and filter in the trans.

Shift kits are usually worth it. And for the price it is not bad. The only thing is the work. Make sure the instructions are easy to follow if you are going to do it. Or have a professional do it. If you are going to do it do it EXACTLY as the instructions say.

The usual is a new separator plate. With larger holes. Larger or smaller *****. Drilling some fluid passages larger. New springs some stiffer or softer. May be some new shift pistons. Most of it all is on the valve body. So you can just take it off and set it on a clean table and work on it outside of the truck. No it will not have an external switch

okay it just sounded like there was an external switch with it saying you are able to hold it in one gear and gear down and up and all that.

okay that is easy enough...

No I haven't. When I bought my 4wd the tranny already had it installed. By them talking about holding it in a gear you move the gear selector to 2nd or 1st. Or even hit the OD off switch.

Ya stock setup lets you manually downshift it and control the up wards shifts. A shift kit is more for the firmer and quicker shifts. From factory they are setup a little slow to make it feel smooth.
