black hose? transfercase?
ok im putting the transfercase back on my truck and theres this black hose that hooks up to a nipple on it and i cant seem to find where the other end leads to...
anybody got any ideas? looks like it leads forward

Yeah, thats a breather tube or vent tube (6 on one hand, half a dozen on the other). It follows the wiring harnesses and fuel lines up to the firewall/transmission bellhousing area of the truck and bolts to whatever you want to bolt it to up there. All it does is let the transfer case breath as it heats up and cools down while making sure water or mud doesn't get in it if you like to drive through deep puddles.
Lol, if you're like me you'll forget by February!! I didn't have that hose on mine for the longest time, then I just happened to come across it when I was putting in the 242 and remembered, so now it's finally back in place.

Yea. Once I actually get the thing road worthy (just gotta remove and properly install a torsion bar and fix the squishy brakes/always on brake lights), I'll look thru it and fix those little things.
I also need to replace the switch on the transfer case that illuminates the "4x4" light.
