Default 94 dakota 4x4 lift

hey i just wanted to no how to lift my dakota i have been trying to find some way to lift it and i found a way to lift the back of it but not the front which is dum if anyone has got any info let me no

the front uses a torsion bar with an adjustable key, the factory keys will adjust up some more

well i no bout the torsion keys but is there another way to get more of a lift

Yes just look in the FAQ2. Here is a copy and paste.

Or you can just crank your torsion bars and add rear blocks for 1 inch or so.

You can tack weld some 1/4 inch steal strips to your keys. Here is a post on it. 1st-gen-dakota/175855-cheep-lift-post1417241.html#post1417241

You can get blocks just about any parts stores. Sizes are available from 1 inch - 6 inches.

You can get Shorter rear spring shackles.

If you got a V6 you can get V8 torsion bars to give you an extra inch or so.

Well, we don't know how much you know. Thats the basic answer is crank the torsion bars.

There are plenty of other ways to lift it, it just depends how much fabrication and money you want to put into it. You could drop the control arms down (like the trailmaster kit), get longer control arms (would have to be custom made), or do a SAS... in which case the sky is the limit on how high you can go.

god love you. first you want to lift it and not lower it! depends on how much lift you want. if you want 2 inches then torque up the bars 2 inches. but i recommend extra leafs rather than blocks in the rear, your going to love it around turns. 2 leafs on each side will give you 2 inches. anything higher is aftermarket and expensive.

Add-A_Leafs are good for the back, or blocks. If you are only looking for 2" and don't want to mess with your torsion bars ro blocks you can do a body lift. I cranked my bars first, now I am running it back at stock and did a body lift instead. everyone has their own preference. I hated the ride I got after cranking the bars. Some people like it.

I have even heard of somone who actually removed their front sway bar.
