the front uses a torsion bar with an adjustable key, the factory keys will adjust up some more

Yes just look in the FAQ2. Here is a copy and paste.

Lift kits

4wd

Body kit 2in. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRA-PA-642/

Custom 6in body kit. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...y-tires-d.html

Full suspension kit 4in. ($1,700)
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge_dak4WD.htm Here is a great site about installing the kit. http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com/modifications.html

http://home.earthlink.net/~btm0106/ (Site down, may be up at sometime)

Lift keys 2 inch. Lots listed on http://www.ebay.com/ 97-up may work!

http://www.totalperformanceonline.co...1321/50/100-14

Or you can just crank your torsion bars and add rear blocks for 1 inch or so.

You can tack weld some 1/4 inch steal strips to your keys. Here is a post on it. 1st-gen-dakota/175855-cheep-lift-post1417241.html#post1417241

You can get blocks just about any parts stores. Sizes are available from 1 inch - 6 inches.

You can get Shorter rear spring shackles.

Or flip your shackle hangers. Check out https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...ut-blocks.html https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...le-hanger.html

If you got a V6 you can get V8 torsion bars to give you an extra inch or so.

Add a leaf too.

You can get air shocks too. These are not air bags. So you don't need an on-board compressor. http://shop.oreillyauto.com/productd...ype=50&PTSet=A

Universal air bags. http://www.airbagit.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y

You can get coil over rear shocks. It may add an inch of height. http://shop.oreillyauto.com/productd...ype=50&PTSet=A

Well, we don't know how much you know. Thats the basic answer is crank the torsion bars.

There are plenty of other ways to lift it, it just depends how much fabrication and money you want to put into it. You could drop the control arms down (like the trailmaster kit), get longer control arms (would have to be custom made), or do a SAS... in which case the sky is the limit on how high you can go.

god love you. first you want to lift it and not lower it! depends on how much lift you want. if you want 2 inches then torque up the bars 2 inches. but i recommend extra leafs rather than blocks in the rear, your going to love it around turns. 2 leafs on each side will give you 2 inches. anything higher is aftermarket and expensive.

Add-A_Leafs are good for the back, or blocks. If you are only looking for 2" and don't want to mess with your torsion bars ro blocks you can do a body lift. I cranked my bars first, now I am running it back at stock and did a body lift instead. everyone has their own preference. I hated the ride I got after cranking the bars. Some people like it.

I have even heard of somone who actually removed their front sway bar.
