Fuel issue help

The open style breather filter like the second one you posted.
I do want to go with an open air filter like the one you have, my only concern is the air lines to the throttle body. Are there places to route the air hoses from an open air filter like the one you have?

No, sir. I'm guessing my pre-magnum is different. My pcv valve sits in a grommet on the DRIVER SIDE valve cover. On my v6 the breather cap is located the passenger side valve cover and is connected via hose to the plastic air filter box. I simply removed the stock breather cap and hose and replaced it with an open type breather cap. All the cap really does is stop debris from getting into the valve cover while allowing the engine to breathe and let the fumes escape.

I'm not really claiming it offers performance as such, But it seems to allow the engine to breathe better than the way it is hooked up stock. I can't understand what sense it makes to hook up the breather onto the air intake...
Mine was clogged up with oil and dirt so after I changed it out it did run better.

I don't mind being proved wrong or shown how things work.

I did some research and discovered the reason for the closed system. The blow by gasses created need to be released to prevent the build up of pressure within the crank case. Older engines had a tube that released the gasses and fumes into the atmosphere. The pcv valve and breather tube recirculate them into the intake as to burn them through internal combustion.
uhhh i feel kind of stupid lol I would put it back to stock and return the part, but I will probably need it for when I get the new air filter setup?
Back to the issue I was having... could the fuel relays going bad cause the issue? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. If it's the intake manifold gasket leaking can I remove the intake manifold without removing the heads? I know some engines you can and some you can't.
I just want to figure this on so I can drive my truck around and move the F on to the other stuff.
